Level 100 students at the University for Development (UDS) have escaped death after the bus they were travelling on involved in a fatal accident on Tamale-Ejura Road.
The students were traveling from Tamale to Ejeru agric college in the Ashanti region for their Third Trimester field Practical Program (TTFPP) in a minibus with registration number GT4010-23 when the accident happened.
The accident occurred at about 1pm Thursday. The bus was carrying nine passengers including the six UDS students.
Eyewitnesses say a long bus overtook the minibus the students were on-board at a dangerous curve and collided head-on with a taxi from the opposite direction.
According to the eyewitness, in an attempt to avoid head-on collision, the minibus driver veered off the road and somersaulted. No casualty was recorded but the occupants sustained a varied degree of injuries.
