In a major step toward improving educational infrastructure in Tamale, the Today for Tomorrow Fund has commissioned and handed over two newly constructed classroom blocks to the Ghana Education Service (GES).
The project includes a 4-classroom block with a teachers’ office for Sakasaka JHS ‘A’ and a 3-classroom block with teachers’ office for Sakasaka M/A Primary ‘D’ Kindergarten. Both facilities are fully roofed, painted, and furnished, providing a safer and more conducive learning environment for pupils and teachers.
The initiative, executed in collaboration with the Regional Directorate of the GES, seeks to restore vital learning spaces that had long been unusable. The Sakasaka JHS ‘A’ block had been destroyed by fire several years ago, while the KG block at Sakasaka M/A Primary ‘D’ had deteriorated to an unsafe state due to years of neglect.

Speaking on behalf of the Director of the Today for Tomorrow Fund, Mr. Andrews Koutanyi highlighted that the core motivation behind the project was to provide a peaceful and supportive atmosphere for learning. He acknowledged the role of partner organizations, including Bilinear Asserting Properties, Molar Limited, and generous contributions from community members in making the project a reality.
The Member of Parliament for Sunyani East, Hon. Seid Mubarak, who graced the commissioning ceremony, encouraged parents to play an active role in the upbringing and education of their children, noting that strong parental guidance is essential to complement school-based efforts.
Also in attendance was the Mayor of Tamale, Hon. Abu Takoro, who lauded the Today for Tomorrow Fund for its timely intervention in enhancing educational facilities. He assured stakeholders of the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly’s commitment to regular maintenance of the structures to ensure their long-term benefit to the community.
The commissioning marks a hopeful turn for the pupils and teachers of the two Sakasaka schools, as they return to a renewed and revitalized learning environment.
