The Telecommunication giant, MTN-Ghana has assured its customers in the northern region, especially areas with data and call challenges to exercise patience as it improves its network.
The company says it recognizes the challenges in some areas within the region and that it is working hard to complete 10 new sites by the end of this year as part of its expansion and improvement project.

The assurances follow continued complaints of some subscribers in some parts within Tamale and beyond.The company is investing 144 million dollars this year on 230 new sites for coverage extension and capacity, 200 rural sites for coverage and extension and 695 km of fiber optics.
The expansion will also see 300 new sites for 2-G coverage and capacity, 1100 new sites for 3-G to improve population coverage by 27% being added.
In 2017, MTN-Ghana paid 1059 billion to the Ghana Revenue Authority and 159. 4 million to the National Communication Authority (GRA) and the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC) totally 1.218 billion cedis.
MTN-Ghana Corporate Services Executive, Mr. Samuel Koranteng disclosed this when he presented an overview of the company’s operations at stakeholders forum in Tamale.
MTN-Ghana, Mr Koranteng said, over 20,000 residential homes from Greater Accra, Eastern and Ashanti have been covered with fiber broadband.
An amount of 1.88,007 cedis was committed into 142 projects in the area health, education and economic empowerment in the northern region.
MTN-Ghana Mr Koranteng said is excited in the rural telephony project it is partnering with GIFEC to improve rural connectivity.
