The Dean of the Faculty of Ghanaian Languages Education at the University of Education, Winneba, Professor Samuel Alhassan Issah, an indigene of Tampe Kukuo Yapalsi in the Sagnarigu Municipality, has responded to the distress calls of residents by funding the completion of an incomplete school building at Tunteiya MA Basic School. This intervention aims to enhance infrastructure and improve learning conditions for students in the community.
Tunteiya MA Basic School has been grappling with severe infrastructure deficits, forcing caregivers to combine classes to accommodate the hundreds of students enrolled. In an attempt to address this challenge, the community initiated the construction of two classroom blocks for kindergarten students. However, due to financial constraints, the project was left incomplete for several years.
In a remarkable act of giving back to his community, Professor Samuel Alhassan Issah mobilized funds to complete the project, ensuring that children in the area have access to a conducive learning environment. The chief and residents of Tampe Kukuo Yapalsi expressed their profound gratitude to the professor for his timely and generous intervention.
The Northern Regional Basic Education Coordinator, Lucy Vikuba Issah, urged teachers to make the best use of the new structure to improve student learning outcomes. She emphasized that failure to utilize the facility effectively would render the investment futile. Additionally, she encouraged parents to send their daughters to school, dispelling the misconception that educating girls is unimportant. She cited herself as a testament to the benefits of educating girls.
Speaking to residents and teachers at Tunteiya MA Basic School, Professor Samuel Alhassan Issah reaffirmed his commitment to the development of his community. He assured the people that he would always be available to support them in times of need. He also encouraged students to view his contribution as motivation to strive for academic excellence.
This initiative underscores the importance of individual contributions to community development and highlights the impact that dedicated citizens can have in improving education and transforming lives.
