Zabzugu, June 25, 2025 —The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Zabzugu, Hon. George Tanie Lakoba, has embarked on a familiarization tour of key institutions within the district as part of efforts to deepen collaboration between the District Assembly and critical service providers, particularly in the education sector.
Hon. George was accompanied by some constituency executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), underscoring the shared commitment to grassroots development and stakeholder engagement.
The team visited the Zabzugu office of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Zabzugu Senior High School (SHS), Zabzugu D/A Junior High School (JHS), and the Zabzugu D/A Girls’ Model JHS.
At each stop, Hon. George interacted with staff, administrators, and students, commending their dedication to promoting quality education in the district. He reiterated the Assembly’s support for improving infrastructure, logistics, and educational resources, while promising to relay the concerns and needs of the institutions to the appropriate authorities.

“This visit is to familiarize myself with the conditions in our schools and to assure you that we are committed to working closely with all stakeholders to address the challenges facing education in Zabzugu,” he stated.
Heads of the institutions expressed gratitude for the visit, describing it as timely and encouraging. They appealed for urgent interventions in areas such as classroom expansion, provision of teaching and learning materials, and improved sanitation facilities.
The presence of the DCE and the NDC constituency executives was widely applauded by staff and community members, who welcomed the initiative as a positive step toward inclusive and responsive local governance.
