Tamale, December 25, 2025 — The Dagbamba Youth Association (DAYA) has congratulated Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Alhaji Bawa Abdul Jalil following his promotion from Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), describing the elevation as a well-deserved recognition of his dedication to duty and contributions to crime control in Ghana.
In a statement issued to media houses and signed by the General Secretary of the association, Alhaji Jagbo Baako, DAYA praised DSP Abdul Jalil for his exceptional leadership and professionalism, particularly in the Northern Region.
According to the association, DSP Abdul Jalil, through his leadership of the Special Operations Team, has played a key role in addressing complex security challenges, including illegal activities, violent conflicts, and organised crime.
“Your exceptional dedication and outstanding performance in combating crime in Ghana have truly paid off,” the statement noted, adding that his work has significantly boosted public confidence in law enforcement, especially in Tamale.
DAYA highlighted what it described as noticeable improvements in security, citing reductions in drug trafficking, robbery, and other criminal activities in the Northern Region as evidence of the effectiveness of DSP Abdul Jalil and his team.
The youth group further commended the senior police officer’s courage, discipline, and unwavering commitment to public service, stressing that his promotion reflects years of hard work and sacrifice in the line of duty.
“We celebrate your achievement and recognise the positive impact of your work on the community,” the statement said. “Your promotion is a well-deserved acknowledgement of your service to Ghana.”

The Dagbamba Youth Association concluded by wishing DSP Alhaji Bawa Abdul Jalil continued success and excellence in his new role within the Ghana Police Service.
