The staff and management of the company, located in the Industrial area in Tamale received SSNIT-branded chocolates, aprons, and calendars.

The Tamale area Manager of SSNIT, Festus Darko-Preko at a short ceremony to present the items, said the trust took advantage of the national Chocolate Day celebration to express gratitude to its members, particularly start-ups for their continued loyalty.

Mr Darko-Preko further stated that the gesture is to strengthen the Trust’s relationship with businesses, engage with its members and reaffirm its commitment to providing income security for workers.

“Employers are key partners in national development, Thus we are also using today’s event as a platform to encourage all employers, big and small, to secure the future of their workers by enrolling them on the SSNIT Scheme’’.

‘’Our objective is to appreciate their efforts and the goal is to strengthen our relationship with businesses, engage with our members, and reaffirm our commitment to providing income security for workers in Ghana’’, he added.

The Area Manager also used the opportunity to encourage self-employed persons and workers in the informal sector to join the SSNIT Pension Scheme to reduce poverty during their old age.

He said: ‘’Self-employed persons and workers in the informal sector should join SSNIT to guarantee their social protection in the form of partial income at old or whilst on retirement’’.
