Tudu Center Appoints Dr. Somed Shahadu Bitamsimli as Senior Fellow in Leadership and Development

The Tudu Center for Leadership and Development (TCLD) has appointed Dr. Somed Shahadu Bitamsimli as its new Senior Fellow in Leadership and Development. This appointment marks a strategic move to strengthen TCLD’s impact on youth empowerment and transformative leadership in Northern Ghana.

Established in 2014, TCLD is a youth-focused empowerment center committed to addressing developmental challenges in Northern Ghana and beyond. The center promotes youth leadership, gender equity, entrepreneurship, and community stability through research, advocacy, networking, and capacity-building programs.

Dr. Somed, a seasoned development expert, brings extensive experience in Development Policy and Practice, Gender and Development, Inclusive Growth, and Development Communication. As Senior Fellow, he is expected to play a leading role in enhancing TCLD’s youth-centered leadership programming and promoting holistic development approaches tailored to the local context.

His key responsibilities will include designing and implementing leadership initiatives, conducting relevant research, mentoring emerging leaders, and supporting TCLD’s gender equity and entrepreneurship programs. He is also expected to contribute to the center’s advocacy and public engagement efforts.

Welcoming the new Senior Fellow, TCLD Executive Director Mr. Osman Mubarik Abu stated, “We are delighted to have Dr. Somed join our team. His deep knowledge and experience will greatly enrich our work and further our mission to nurture a new generation of transformative leaders in Northern Ghana.”
