A total of 43,899 candidates from Northern, North East and Savannah Regions are taking part in this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) from 157 centers.
This comprises, 23,614 boys and 20,285 girls drawn from 990 schools.
The candidates will be supervised by 321 supervisors and 1486 invigilators from today September, 14 to 18 2020.
Addressing the candidates at the Ghana Senior High School this morning, Northern Regional Director of Education, Dr. Peter Attafuah advised the students to desist from engaging in any examination mal-practice.
Dr Attafuah assured the students that they will pass once they stake to what they have learnt.
According to him, the questions are not new but rather being recycled and urged the students not to panic.
The GES director also charged invigilators not to become lions but rather keep vigil to prevent students from cheating.
At the Tamale Senior High School, the Northern Regional Minister Salifu Saeed also advised the candidates to conduct themselves well throughout the exam period.
