Burkina Faso is safe for trade activities- Burkinabe cyclist

A-37-years old Burkina Bae, Mr Kabore Frederic has urged   businessmen to continue their inter trade activities and ignore what he called western media propaganda about insecurity in Burkina Faso.

Mr Kuborri who is on a west Africa cycling tour from Burkina Faso capital Ouagadougou to Tamale stated that over 20 million people out of the country’s 24 million population are in support of the military-led government. 

He explained that pulling out Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger from ECOWAS created a situation where the western world no longer has control of their resources.

According to him, Burkina Faso is currently witnessing massive improvement in the area of roads, free housing projects and agricultural machinery for farmers, stating the social media commendation of their leader, Captain Ibrahim Traore is a testament that Africans can develop the continent without the west.

On Saturday, May 10, 2025, Burkinabè cyclist Kuborri Federick was warmly received in Tamale by the Mossi community, led by the Mossi Chief of Tamale, Yani Saambi Naaba.

The visit formed part of Mr. Kuborri’s cycling tour from Burkina Faso to Accra, Ghana, aimed at promoting unity among African states and countering negative perceptions of the Sahel region.

During his visit, Mr. Kuborri paid a courtesy call on the Mossi Chief at Nyashegu, where he presented a flag of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) as a symbol of solidarity.

He later made a stop at Zaa Multimedia, where he shared insights into the objectives of his journey.

Speaking through an interpreter, Mr. Kuborri explained that his tour seeks to challenge the negative narratives propagated by Western media about insecurity in Burkina Faso.

He emphasized that, contrary to reports, security in the country has significantly improved under the current administration. Yani Saambi Naaba commended Mr. Kuborri for his vision and dedication to African unity as a young person, stating that it will further strengthen Ghana-Burkina Faso relations.  

The cyclist presented a flag of the Alliance of Sahel States to the Mossi chief in Tamale after a brief interaction.

Mr Kuborri, a painter by profession stated that security is tight in Burkina Faso to protect the country against external enemies such as the terrorist and extremist groups activities.

January 29, 2025 Burkina Faso, along with Mali and Niger, officially withdrew from ECOWAS, causing a major crisis in West African regional integration since ECOWAS’s founding in 1975. 

The withdrawal was preceded by a year of diplomatic tension, primarily due to the three countries’ refusal to comply with ECOWAS’s demands to restore civilian rule after military coups. 

Despite a six-month grace period offered by ECOWAS, the three nations, collectively forming the Alliance of Sahel States (AES), formally left the organization.
