President Akufo-Addo monthly update on the measures put in place by government to deal covid 19 pandemic will hit the screens very soon, Information Minister has announced.
Mr Oppong-Nkrumah stated that fellow Ghanaians update on Covid-19 pandemic and vaccination exercise will start soon by the president.
What has now known as fellow Ghanaians momentarily halted after 23rd edition in January 31st,2021 rising questions about the government continue efforts at addressing covid 19 and its related issues.
But responding to questions from journalists on his last day regional tour in Tamale, Mr Oppong-Nkrumah without given exact date of the resumption of the president’s address to the nation assured that the president is bouncing back to update Ghanaians on covid situation.
When it comes to vaccines, there was only one incident where AstraZeneca vaccine were reported to have been due for expiration in the northern region out of nearly 900,000 doses, there was no incident adding that it’s the exception but not a norm.
The government, he assured has taken into cognizance about issues from the first jab incident from the northern region and the roll out this week for the second by the Ghana Health Service and the vaccine need to be utilized.
The government he said was grateful to the media for the critical role played in risky their lives since the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic to bring to the public the happenings.
He reiterated the need for Ghanaians to not loose guard because the world is not out of woes of the pandemic yet citing Indian current situation where the 3rd wave is causing havoc.
The country he said is still not in ordinary times in terms of health and economics.
Explaining the import of president Akufo-Addo’s statement that his government’’ we know how to bring the economy back to life. What we do not know is how to bring people back to life’’, Mr Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah said the president was referring to the gains made between 2017-2019 as a republic to resuscitate the economy from about 3% to about 7% growth on average, drop debt sustainability indices and improved national revenue be able to get money for planting for food and jobs, Free SHS.
However, to contain the pandemic, the government has to literally sacrifice all of these things to protect lives and livelihoods. “As a country we have to break the bank, borrow money the country never borrows before, exceed some of our own very fine statistical limits the country has put in place; we have to sacrifice all so that Ghanaian are still alive and not witnessed the current Indian situation where people are literally crenated’’ he explained.
