The minister presented the cash donation during a brief ceremony at the RTU Secretariat in Tamale, where he praised the club’s determination and resilience despite its recent challenges in Division One.

“Real Tamale United is not just a football club — it’s a symbol of Northern pride and unity,” Hon. Ali said. “We all know how much RTU means to the people of this region. My contribution is a sign of my personal commitment and the government’s recognition of the important role in sports play in community development.”

RTU expressed its deep appreciation for the Minister’s unmatched support, describing it as a powerful show of commitment and belief in the RTU dream.

“This remarkable gesture is a huge morale booster for the team as we gear up for battle,” the club said in an official statement.

As one of Ghana’s most storied football clubs, RTU is preparing for a decisive playoff that could determine its return to the Ghana Premier League. With fans rallying behind the team and regional leaders like Hon. Ali Adolf John stepping forward, the energy around the club has never been higher.

“This gives us added motivation. It shows we are not alone in this fight,” said Alhaji Ibrahim Dawuda, the club’s board chairman. “We urge all our supporters to follow this example and contribute in any way they can.”

RTU is also calling on supporters and well-wishers to join in backing the team financially. Those wishing to contribute can reach out directly to the Playoff Committee Chairman, Dr. Arnold Mashud.

As the playoffs approach, the Pride of the North is determined to make their fans proud and fight for glory, fueled by the unwavering support of the region.
