Seven Municipal and District Chief Executives in the northern region have been renominated by the president for the second term. The seven are Abdul Salam Hamza Fatawu -Kumbungu, Ahmed Abubakari Iddrisu-Zabzugu, George Bingirini-Saboba, Abdulai Yakubu Nanumba North municipality, Alhaji Ahmed Yussif Abubakari-Yendi, Kpandai-Emmanuel Atta Tatablata and the only female in the 16 MMDAs northern region Hajia Ayishetu Seidu- Savelugu.
The match awaited list was released by the minister for local government and rural development Dan Kwaku Bowte made the announcement at a press conference Sunday. Former northern regional secretary and current Communication director Sule Salifu has been nominated for the position of Metropolitan chief executive for Tamale.
Nyankpala Zogbeli Lana, Chief Fuseini Salifu Issifu Moshie also nominated as DCE for Tolon. Speaking to the media on his nomination, the Tamale Mayor nominee Mr Sule Salifu thanked the president for considering his application for the position.
Mr Sule thanked the rank and file of the party, especially the youth wing for their unflinching support. The Tamale mayor nominee is of the hope that his youthful exuberance will serve as shining example for the youth to emulate.
He pledged to consult broadly and widely with traditional leaders and assembly members to ensure that the city is given a face lift. On the monetization of that normally characterized confirmation, Mr Sule roll out bribery members to confirm him.
