Tamale Mayor Conducts Unannounced Visit to Yimahi Nayili Islamic Primary School to Boost Academic Standards
In a bid to strengthen discipline and enhance teaching and learning in basic schools, Alhaji Adam
Abubakari Takoro, Metropolitan Chief Executive of the Tamale Metropolitan
Assembly conducted an unannounced visit yesterday to Yimahi Nayili Islamic
Primary School.
The visit forms part of Mayor Takoro’s ongoing routine monitoring exercises aimed at ensuring teacher punctuality, maintaining high standards of professionalism, and creating a conducive
learning environment for pupils. During his inspection, the Mayor interacted
with school authorities, teachers, and learners, encouraging them to remain
dedicated to academic excellence and uphold the values of discipline and
commitment.
While commending the efforts of teachers who consistently demonstrate professionalism, Mayor Takoro
emphasized that absenteeism without valid reasons would not be tolerated.
“Teachers who are absent from school without any justifiable explanation will
face the appropriate administrative sanctions in accordance with Ghana
Education Service regulations,” he noted.
The Mayor reiterated that the future of the children and the educational development of the Metropolis
depend on strict adherence to discipline and professionalism. He urged all
staff to ensure regular attendance and active participation in school
activities as part of the Assembly’s commitment to improving educational
outcomes across Tamale.
This unannounced school visit is part of a broader initiative by the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly under
Mayor Takoro’s leadership to monitor, evaluate, and support basic education
institutions in the Metropolis, ensuring that every child receives quality
education in a safe and conducive learning environment.
