US Northern Queens Donate Essential Items to New Mothers at Tamale Teaching Hospital

The United States of America Magaajias (US Northern Queens) have extended a helping hand to new mothers at the Tamale Teaching Hospital by donating essential mother-care items. The gesture is aimed at easing the financial burden on mothers following childbirth.

The donation included vital care items such as bar soap, liquid Dettol soap, and baby wipes, among others. The one-day exercise, which was done randomly, benefited over 100 new mothers at the facility.

The donation was led by representatives of the Dagbon Queens in the U.S., including Hajia Maami, the Dagbang Queen of North America; Hajia Seirina Gundonaa Magaajiya; Hajia Ayisha of New Jersey; Fatima Ibrahim of Connecticut; Hajia Ramatu of Atlanta; Hajia Gurima of Pennsylvania; Tifa-Mpanko of Massachusetts; and Hajia Mariya of New York.

Speaking to Zaa News during the donation exercise at the Tamale Teaching Hospital, one of the representatives, Fuseini Abdulai Braima, commended the US Northern Queens for the initiative.

“By providing these essential resources, the US Northern Queens are helping to ensure that new mothers can focus on their recovery and the care of their newborns without the added stress of financial strain,” he said.

Receiving the donations on behalf of the hospital, the Public Relations Officer of the Tamale Teaching Hospital, Aliu Zabairu, expressed gratitude to the US Northern Queens, stating that their generosity has brought joy and hope to the new mothers.

As the items were distributed ward to ward, the beneficiaries expressed joy and appreciation, describing the donation as a shining example of the impact that can be made through selfless giving.

The US Northern Queens continue to support communities back home in Ghana through various humanitarian initiatives.
