The Tertiary Education Institution Network (TEIN) of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) at the University for Development Studies Nyankpala campus has taken opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Members of Parliament to task over their comments on the 2016 budget.
TEIN which is a youth wing of the NDC says the comments demonstrate the NPP legislators’ lack of proper analysis of the national agenda and of their haste to release baseless press statements moments after the presentation of the 2016 budget.
TEIN described the MPs’ action as a mere “show of presence” in order to conceal the grievous ‘cannibalism’ that has engulfed their party (NPP) after two of their own loyal members became victims of violence for expressing their constitutional freedom.
The statement issued at Nyankpala and signed by TEIN’s President, Alhassan Sule, noted that many Ghanaians are still watching the party closely to see how members are going to manage themselves following the numerous suspensions, internal bickering and mistrust that have befallen their party – NPP.
Moments after the Minister for Finance and Economic Planning, Seth Terkper presented the budget for the 2016 Fiscal year with the theme: “Consolidating Progress Towards a Brighter Medium Term” highlighting numerous promising projects that have the potential to put Ghana on a transforming tract, the minority saw all those brilliant plans as “rosy promises” and doubted the ability of Government to bring them to reality.
In TEIN’s view, the NPP legislators by mocking the budget never believe the NDC and President John Dramani Mahama can do anything, adding that this budget is like previous budgets which had similar projects spread across the length and breadth of the country that have either been fully implemented or at various stages of completion.
TEIN as an intellectual wing of the NDC, the statement said, has monitored the ad hoc releases of the NPP and the minority over the years.

PRESS RELEASE BY TEIN – UDS NYANKPALA CAMPUS ON
THE COMMENTS OF THE MINORITY NPP IN PARLIAMENT ABOUT THE 2016 BUDGET STATEMENT
Fellow Ghanaians, the attitude of the Honorable members of the minority NPP side is a clear demonstration of incompetence on the aspect of proper analysis of national agenda following their perpetual rush to release baseless press statements moments after the presentation of the 2016 budget.
The action of the NPP Members of parliament can only be described as mere “show of presence” in order to conceal the grievous ‘Cannibalism’ that has engulf their party (NPP) where 2 (two) of their own loyal members became victims for expressing their constitutional freedom.
Most Ghanaians are still watching them closely to see how they are going to manage themselves following the numerous suspensions, internal bickering and distrust that have befallen their party – NPP.
Moments after the Minister for Finance and Economic Planning, Hon. Seth E. Terkper presented the budget for the 2016 Fiscal year with the theme: “Consolidating Progress Towards a Brighter Medium Term” highlighting numerous promising projects that has the potential to put Ghana on a transforming tract, the minority saw all those brilliant plans as “rosy promises” and doubted the ability of Government to bring them into reality. We want to assure Ghanaians that, the Mahama-Amissah Arthur Led administration is not fazed with claims that they have borrowed too much, quoting their own figures. But the NDC Government is much particular about changing the lives of people and Transforming Ghana. The borrowed money has been invested to increase access to Education, Construct Roads, Provide Portable drinking water, expand Health care services, ameliorate poverty and to End Dumsor, just a few to mention. We therefore call-on all Ghanaians at home and the diaspora, to ignore the claims of the minority as mere baseless arguments just to divert the attention of well-meaning Ghanaians from the massive infrastructural projects and social programmes aggressively undertaken by the NDC Government. They (NPP) can see that there is no hope for their Falling Party hence, an attempt to engage us on another wild-goose chase. The NDC government is working assiduously to Transform and put the economy on Track for people to carry out their business activities, improve access to education, Health, water, create employment , construct roads, end the power crisis, etc as well as fight corruption as witnessed in the scandal that rocked the judiciary involving a number of judges and the Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ).May the good Lord continue to bless the President and his team with good health and wisdom to fully deliver the better Ghana, and then change lives and Transform Ghana.
Long live NDC!
Long live Ghana!
Thank you.
Signed: ALHASSAN SULE
