NPP Cautions Members Against Premature Campaigning Ahead of Official Nominations

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has issued a firm directive warning its members and aspiring candidates against engaging in any form of internal campaigning before the official opening of nominations for party positions.

In a statement signed by the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, the NPP emphasized that no individual is permitted to approach party executives or structures for support until the nomination process has been formally launched.

“This directive is in line with the Party’s commitment to fairness in the administration of its internal electoral processes,” the statement read. “Premature engagements not only undermine the authority of the Party’s organs but also risk disrupting the careful and strategic efforts currently underway to reposition the Party for victory in the 2028 general elections.”

The statement, issued from the party’s headquarters in Accra, underscores the NPP’s ongoing internal reforms aimed at strengthening its structures and promoting unity ahead of the next electoral cycle.

The party called on all members, supporters, and stakeholders to cooperate fully with the directive and to avoid any actions that could compromise internal cohesion or the integrity of the party’s processes.

Reaffirming its dedication to transparency, inclusiveness, and due process, the party assured that all relevant guidelines and timelines regarding the nomination process would be communicated in due course.

The NPP’s motto, “Development in Freedom,” remains central to its vision as it prepares for the political journey leading up to 2028.
