The Member of Parliament (MP) for Zabzugu, Hon. Alhaji Alhassan Umar, popularly known as Hon. Abaako, has secured land for the construction of a permanent Solayagle Primary School in the Tuvugu Electoral Area, marking a major step toward improving educational infrastructure in the constituency.
Hon. Abaako, who was accompanied by the District Chief Executive, Hon. George Lakoba Tanie, the NDC Constituency Chairman, Alhaji Alidu Bawa, the Assemblyman for the area, Hon. Alhassan Abdul-Somed, and representatives of the traditional authority, inspected and confirmed the allocated site during a community visit.

At present, pupils of the Solayagle Primary School study in a rented, uncompleted building—a situation that has raised safety concerns and hampered effective teaching and learning. The confirmation of land for a permanent structure is therefore seen as a timely relief for parents, teachers, and pupils alike.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Abaako expressed deep gratitude to the community for making land available and assured residents that construction would begin immediately after the harvest of crops on the site. He further pledged to complement the project with a Junior High School block upon completion of the primary school.
“This is not just about classrooms; it is about giving our children the foundation they need for a brighter future,” Hon. Abaako stated, stressing that education remained a top priority in his development agenda for Zabzugu.
The announcement was warmly welcomed by community members, who described it as a significant milestone that demonstrates the MP’s responsiveness to the needs of his constituents.
The Assemblyman for the Tuvugu Electoral Area, Hon. Alhassan Abdul-Somed, expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the MP for fulfilling a long-awaited appeal. “This has been my dream for years, and now that it is becoming a reality, my people can see that I have truly walked my talk,” he said, adding that the project would restore confidence in leadership and bring hope to families in the area.
The initiative has been hailed as a major stride toward bridging educational gaps in rural communities, reinforcing the commitment of Hon. Abaako and his team to advancing social progress across Zabzugu.
