Yendi, December 27, 2025 — The Northern Regional Minister, Hon. Ali Adolf John, has officially launched the Dagbon Maiden Homecoming in Yendi, calling on the people of Dagbon to come together in unity to push the development of the area.

Speaking at the ceremony held under the theme “One Dagbon, One Vision: Advancing Dagbon Development Together,” Hon. Adolf said the homecoming provides an important platform for Dagbon indigenes, both at home and abroad, to reconnect and contribute meaningfully to the progress of the land.

He noted that although the event had come later than expected, it was a welcome initiative that could help mobilise ideas, resources and partnerships for development.

“This programme is late, but it is better late than never,” the Minister stated, adding that the homecoming should serve as a turning point for collective action in Dagbon.

Hon. Adolf commended the organisers for their efforts and also paid glowing tribute to the Ndan Ya Na, whose leadership, he said, has brought lasting peace to Dagbon.

He stressed that peace remains the backbone of development and urged the people to protect the harmony currently enjoyed in the traditional area.

The Regional Minister called on chiefs, elders, youth, women and professionals to actively participate in discussions and initiatives aimed at improving education, healthcare, infrastructure and economic activities in Dagbon.

According to him, unity must go beyond words and be translated into practical steps that will improve the lives of the people.

He concluded by urging all Dagbon indigenes to see the homecoming as their own and to support efforts that will ensure sustainable development in the area.
