One hundred will-be pilgrims from Northern, Upper East and Upper West Regions are set to embark on a very important Islamic religious journey to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in what many described as unprecedented.
Public Relations Officer at the Communications directorate at the Pilgrims Affairs of Ghana, Alhaji Alhassan Sayibu Suhiyini told Zaa News at the Tamale police park which has been converted into temporary Hajj village said, 500 each will be airlifted beginning from Friday August 19th, 2016.
The president, John Dramani Mahama is expected to address the the pilgrims before departure at the Tamale International airport. The president will also commission the first phase which includes a runway and other facilities at the airport.
