Education Ministry Joins Chorus of Congratulations to UDS Men’s Football Team on World University Games Final
The Ministry of Education has congratulated the University for Development Studies (UDS) Men’s Football Team for their historic qualification to the finals of the 2025 World University Games in Dalian, China.
In an official statement, the Ministry described the achievement as a shining testament to discipline, hard work, resilience, and teamwork — qualities it said had propelled the team to global recognition.
“Every pass, every effort, and every sacrifice on the field reflect not only your unwavering commitment to excellence but also the power of unity and the indomitable spirit of Ghana,” the statement read.

The Ministry noted that by advancing to the final, the UDS team has brought immense pride and honor to Ghana while showcasing the nation’s growing potential in international university sports. It further described the team’s success as an inspiration to young people across the country.
Looking ahead to Sunday’s final against Paulista University of Brazil, the Ministry expressed confidence in the team’s chances and urged them to crown their historic run with victory. “We are confident that you can make history and bring the championship home,” it added.
The Honourable Minister of Education also pledged to leverage the UDS team’s success as a springboard to rejuvenate sports across secondary schools, colleges, and universities nationwide.
“As the team prepares for the final showdown, the Ministry, alongside the people of Ghana, stands firmly behind them, offering unwavering support and encouragement,” the statement concluded.
