Scores of passengers have sustained various degree of injury when a Tamale-Saboba bound Metro Mass Transit (MMT) involved in a near fatal accident along Nyakpala road Monday evening. The accident occurred at about 4:36 pm local time. The bus veered off the road and landed into a mahogany avenue few minutes after taking off their yard in Aboabu.
Passengers on board escape with minor injury. Some of the passengers who spoke to Zaa News could not really tell the cause the accident except to say they suspect the driver dogged an object.
Eye witness say the bus veered off because a careless driver in front of the metro mass. According to them, the driver recklessly went onto the road without check his back and upon realizing he has done sped off.
Emergency services
Emergency responds to the scene eye witness say was not the best. According to them, in an accident which could have been fatal, it took more than an hour for ambulance to come to the rescue of the passengers. Personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service rushed into the scene before the national ambulance service in spite of distress calls for their aid
