The Zabzugu Constituency has in the past week witnessed heightened activity as its Member of Parliament, Hon. Alhassan Umar, popularly known as Hon. Abaako, continued to embark on a “Thank You Tour” to express appreciation for the support he and President John Dramani Mahama received in the last general elections.
Accompanied by the Constituency Chairman and party executives, Hon. Abaako visited communities including Kukuokpang, Binyinkundo, Bitido, Gor-Kukani, Laagbani, and Gor-Laayili. At each stop, he thanked residents for their trust and assured them of his commitment to deliver on campaign promises.

“We are working with the central government to ensure Zabzugu sees real transformation,” he told constituents. “Every promise we made will be fulfilled. What we need is unity, calmness, and trust as we reset and build for the future.”
Residents warmly received the MP, describing him as humble, accessible, and a leader of truth. A resident of Gor-Laayili noted, “We finally have someone who listens and walks with us. We are confident he will not only speak but act.”
Key development priorities outlined by Hon. Abaako included the construction of health centers, expansion of schools, improvement of road networks, and support initiatives for students. He emphasized that these projects are tied to the NDC’s broader agenda of social justice and grassroots empowerment.
Hon. Abaako, who is also known for his regular participation in community events, reiterated his philosophy of politics rooted in honesty and service. “There are no lies in politics. If you choose to deceive the people, sooner or later your lies will fade, and the people will know you for who you are,” he said.

As his “Thank You Tour” continues, the bond between the MP and his constituents appears to be growing stronger. In a political era where trust is often in short supply, Hon. Alhassan Umar is positioning himself not only as a representative of the people but also as a leader determined to deliver a legacy of honesty and development in Zabzugu Constituency.
