The police administration has interdicted four police officers for unprofessional conduct on alleged assault on people in Tamale.
A statement issued and signed by the Acting Director General of Public Affairs of the Ghana Police Service, Kwasi Ofori said the officers were assigned to assist NEDCo/VRA to arrest some alleged persons involved in illegal power connections.
The interdicted officers, the statement said, will face a service inquiry, subject to regulations of the Ghana Police service. Processes it added commenced to identify the victims for the necessary medical assessment and assistance.
The police administration has also apologized unconditionally to the affected persons and the people in Tamale for the unprofessional conduct.
Many residents have commended the Acting Inspector General of Police, Dr George Akuffo Dampare leadership for swift actions and called on him to maintain the sinking image of Ghana police.
