Tertiary students should be employers and not job seekers-UDS students tells colleagues

A 24 year old level 200 agriculture technology student at the University for Development Studies Nyankpala campus, Nicholas Ameyaw-Akumfi is urging tertiary students to be employers rather than job seekers after completion of their tertiary education.

He said the society is looking up to the youth to provide a positive mind set of the can do spirit to make positive changes for the betterment of the society and the nation as a whole through their own initiatives.

Mr. Nicholas, was speaking at the launch of a book he authored, entitled ’’The Step-up Father’’ in Tamale. He said tertiary level of education is where the youth earn their potentials involving the use of many talents.  

He further urged tertiary students to start having positive a mind set about themselves on how to develop their communities in their various institutions. The Step-up Father book outlines the challenges facing families across the globe between fathers and their children. 

According to the author, fathers all over the world paid little attention to their children. The children who have found themselves in such situations he said find life very difficult to live in the society and end up being street children and also engaged in social vices such as arm robbery.

Mr. Nicholas also advised the youth to be employers rather than job seekers. He also appealed to the politicians to ensure violent free, before, during and after the 2012 elections.
