Four Communities in Tempane District Benefit from Food Distribution by BAITULMAAL USA

Four communities in the Tempane District of the Upper East Region have made a passionate appeal for boreholes and a mosque. These communities currently lack access to clean drinking water, and Muslims observe prayers in a makeshift structure, making life difficult, especially for women.

The communities—Sakparnating, Akara-Kukunbul, Busum, and Zambala—made the appeal when the American-based BAITULMAAL and its Ghanaian partner, Aldiaa Society, visited them.

A resident from Akara-Kukunbul community lamented the difficulties they face due to the absence of a borehole and the harsh weather conditions.

“We do not have a borehole in this community. The nearest one is very far, and we struggle to get water, so we need your help,” she stated.

Another resident, appealing for a mosque, added, “As of now, we do not have a mosque, and we want someone to help us build one so that we can also pray with dignity.”

The visit was part of BAITULMAAL’s Ramadan IFTAR humanitarian service to Ghanaian communities. Under its Ramadan IFTAR Project, over 200 people from the four communities received packs of prepared food, assorted drinks, and water.

The project, however, aims to go beyond food distribution by providing essential physical infrastructure such as Islamic learning centers, schools, clinics, and mosques to underserved communities in Ghana.

BAITULMAAL USA is a charitable organization that provides life-saving, sustaining, and life-enriching humanitarian aid to underserved populations worldwide, regardless of faith or nationality.

Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to BAITULMAAL and its partners for their generosity. A stakeholder of Aldiaa Society, Iddrisu Neindow Baba, commended the donors for implementing the project in the Tempane District.
