SOS Children’s Villages in Tamale marked Ghana Month with a vibrant cultural event, showcasing the rich traditions and diversity of the country. The celebration, held at the school’s premises, brought together students and staff adorned in traditional attire representing various regions of Ghana.
The event, themed “Promoting Cultural Diversity,” aimed to instill a sense of national pride and cultural awareness among students. Speaking at the event, the Headmistress of the school emphasized the significance of Ghana Month and the need to preserve the country’s cultural heritage.

“We are celebrating because it is important to teach our students their culture and traditions so they can understand where they come from,” she stated.
She further encouraged parents to actively educate their children on cultural values, ensuring they stay connected to their roots.
“Parents must protect and guide their wards, encourage them, and teach them about the rich heritage of our ancestors. This way, the next generation will not forget their history, culture, and practices,” she added.
The event featured cultural dance performances, a local food bazaar, a “Show Your Culture” segment, and a patriotic live band that energized the celebration with music symbolizing national pride.
The Ghana Month celebration at SOS Children’s Villages reaffirmed the school’s commitment to promoting Ghanaian culture and values, leaving participants with a renewed appreciation for their heritage.
