Sagnarigu MP Atta Issah Delivers 1,500 Desks to 28 Schools in Major Education Push

The Member of Parliament for Sagnarigu Constituency, Hon. Atta Issah, has announced the distribution of 1,500 mono desks to 28 schools across the constituency, in what he describes as a significant intervention to improve learning conditions for pupils and students.

Hon. Atta Issah made the announcement in a post on his personal Facebook page, where he highlighted the provision of school furniture as part of his commitment to improving educational infrastructure and creating a more conducive environment for teaching and learning.

According to the MP, the intervention is intended to help address furniture deficits in beneficiary schools and provide pupils and students with better conditions to pursue their education.

“This effort is part of our commitment to improving educational infrastructure and ensuring our children learn in a more conducive environment in our constituency,” Hon. Atta Issah stated.

28 schools benefit

The schools benefiting from the distribution are spread across communities within the Sagnarigu Constituency.

They include Holy Trinity Primary, Tampe Kukuo; Malshegu R/C JHS; Changnaayili Primary School; Garizegu R/C Primary School; Wurishe Darul-Islam Primary School; Darul Hardis Primary School; Jisonayili Islamic Primary A and B; Zagyuri Anglican JHS; and Zagyuri Miskiya.

Other beneficiaries are Hairia Islamic Primary, St. Joan R/C Primary A, Kogni M/A Primary School, Kogni JHS, Damakunyili R/C JHS, Dungu Anglican JHS, Arees E/A Primary School at Kulinyevila, Shakiriya Islamic JHS, Shishegu Zion JHS, Yong Duuni L/A Primary School, Katariga L/A Primary School, Bagabaga Demonstration JHS A, Hilalliya JHS and Rayaaniya Islamic Primary School at Sognaayili.

The intervention also extended beyond the initial list of beneficiary schools to include Tamale Senior High School, Dogushegu School and Tampei Kukuo School.

Tamale Senior High School received 150 desks, while Dogushegu School and Tampei Kukuo School received 50 desks each.

Most of the other beneficiary schools received 50 desks each, with Shakiriya Islamic JHS receiving 40 desks.

Building a brighter future

Hon. Atta Issah described the intervention as a step forward in the collective effort to strengthen education in Sagnarigu.

“Together, we are building a brighter future for our children in greater Sagnarigu,” he said.

The provision of adequate furniture remains an important component of improving the learning environment, particularly in schools where inadequate desks can affect pupils’ comfort, concentration and overall classroom experience.

The MP’s announcement comes as stakeholders continue to advocate greater investment in educational infrastructure and improved learning conditions across the country.
