Tamale, Northern Region — The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Zabzugu, Hon. George Lakoba Tanei, has called for stronger unity and peaceful coexistence between Dagombas and Konkombas in the Zabzugu District.
Speaking during a community engagement at Biyinkundo, Mr. Tanei stressed the importance of ethnic harmony and collective action in advancing development in the district.

“Dagombas and Konkombas are one,” he said, urging residents to look beyond ethnic differences and work together for the development of their communities.
Mr. Tanei noted that his position as the first Konkomba to serve as DCE of Zabzugu reflected the importance of inclusion and acceptance within the district.
He expressed appreciation to residents for accepting and supporting him, saying the progress of Zabzugu depended on the collective efforts of all its people.

According to him, the social-democratic principles of unity, equality and inclusion should guide the district’s development efforts, regardless of ethnic or religious background.
He therefore encouraged residents to maintain peace, tolerance and mutual respect, stressing that development could only be achieved when communities worked together.
The engagement formed part of a wider community outreach involving the DCE, Member of Parliament for Zabzugu, Alhaji Alhassan Umar, and Presiding Member Hon. Mahamoud Osman.

The leaders also interacted with residents in other communities, including Bitido, Biyikumdo and Nyankpala, to listen to their concerns and development priorities.
