The big six, a youth group affiliated to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Northern region this morning stormed the office of the National Board for Small Skills Industries (NBSSI) and locked out all officers.
The group numbering about five went to the NBSSI office located down floor of the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) and ordered all staff to leave peaceful without asking questions.
The NBSSI officers were seen loitering around the premises of RCC after their offices was locked.
An eye witness told Zaa News that they accused the officers of given loans to opposition NDC members in the region.
According to the eye witness, this is the second time the group had visited the offices with the same mission.
The eye witness quoted the big six as saying they intend carrying out similar actions in other parts of Tamale metropolis.
Officers who spoke to Zaa News on condition of anonymity said they were warned by order from above not to speak on the matter.
The action of the youth brought official work to an abrupt end leaving clients confused.
The group who later returned to the RCC at about 12noon more charged met the Chief Director, Alhaji Alhassan Issahaku who tried to explain how the loan process is done online.
But the angry big six members refused to listen to the explanation chanting online does not vote and is not at polling stations.
In August this year, NBSSI launched a gender inclusive 3 year’s project to engaged 39,000 graduates, out of school and school drop-outs young people to secure decent jobs.
That project the board said has facilitated the creation 18,600 jobs since 2017. It is not clear if the Big 6 members have not benefited from it or yet to be given opportunity but lack patience.
