TAMALE NORTH MP FEEDS 3,600 BECE CANDIDATES, GIVES THEM BOOKS

The Member of Parliament for Tamale North, Alhassan S Suhuyini has wrapped up his five day feeding of over 3,600 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates in his constituency with a presentation of story books to each of the candidates.

The MP has been providing snacks for candidates of the just ended BECE in his constituency as part of efforts to support the pupils during the examination.

The MP on Friday, November, 19 2021 visited some of the centers in his constituency where he interacted with the candidates and presented novels and other story books to each of them.

Alhaji Suhuyini visited Choggu Demonstration JHS, Bishops RC JHS, Kanvili RC JHS and Kalpohin SHS where most of the pupils were writing the examination.

He emphasized the need for the pupils to continue reading, despite completing their JHS program, noting that it will help to keep their minds refreshed and prepare them for their second cycle education.

The Tamale North Legislator who spoke to the media after the tour said his own BECE experience inspired him to support the pupils with the snacks.

“You have to learn from your experience, we also wrote the BECE and I recall how the very morning I had to start BECE, I rushed out of home because I thought breakfast was delaying and I wanted to get to the exam center on time. Later in the course of the paper, my tummy told me there was a wrong thing I did, so I just thought it would be a good idea to support the [pupils] in the morning, those of them who skipped breakfast for whatever reason can have a snack to depend on” he explained.

He added that it was important to remind the pupils to keep reading in other to embrace the opportunities ahead of them.

The pupils promised to read the novels provided them by the MP, as they await their results.
