There is growing anxiety  among over 40 nurses and some staff of the Tamale West Hospital following management decision to recall back staff asked to go on 14-days mandatory self-isolation.

The management took the decision after the facility recorded two positive cases of the covid-19 some few weeks ago.

However, the nurses 14 days self-isolation elapsed on Sunday but the staff were called back to duty Monday without knowing their status.

The nurses feared that their patients’ lives are at risk as some of them may be asymptomatic.

The West Hospital last month recorded 2 covid-19 cases even though authorities were reportedly in denial.

Public outcry and pressure from both nurses and outsiders led to the temporary closure of both male and female wards for disinfection.

Zaa News checks at the Male ward as at 7am this morning did not have a single patient even though it has been reopened.

About 7 patients were at the female ward at as the time Zaa News visited there Tuesday morning.
Our checks from the covid-19 team member who took the samples of the staff reveal that they are not aware of the recall of the staff.

When Zaa News contacted the matron of Tamale West Hospital, he refused to speak on the matter
