The Savannah Regional Minister, Hon. Salisu Be-Awuribe, Esq., has launched the second phase of a strategic developmental outreach in Accra, leading a delegation of Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) to lobby for critical infrastructure and investment support for the Savannah Region—one of Ghana’s most underserved areas.

The update was first shared by Sherik Mohammed on his official Facebook page and subsequently reported by ZaaNews.com, highlighting a growing effort to attract national attention to the region’s development needs.

The outreach began with a key meeting at the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), where Hon. Be-Awuribe made a compelling appeal for the inclusion of the Savannah Region in the Authority’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs.

“We are here because the people of the Savannah Region still face serious developmental gaps,” the Minister told NPA executives. “We believe strategic partnerships like this can help bridge those gaps and promote inclusive national growth.”

In response, the NPA Chief Executive Officer expressed the Authority’s willingness to collaborate, assuring the delegation that the Savannah Region will be among the beneficiaries of its upcoming CSR projects.

“We are committed to ensuring that development reaches every corner of this country,” the CEO said. “The Savannah Region deserves attention, and we will work to make sure that happens.”

The Minister and his team also paid a courtesy call on Chief Osman Salifu Mimina, a respected traditional authority from the Kpembi Traditional Area and a former Deputy National Security Coordinator. Chief Mimina praised the outreach as “a bold and commendable step” and encouraged the delegation to stay the course.

“You have shown leadership. Let this initiative be part of a legacy—not only for your people, but also for President John Dramani Mahama, who entrusted you with this mandate,” the chief said.

The Minister’s Accra outreach will continue in the days ahead with a series of engagements involving state agencies, private sector actors, and development partners, all aimed at unlocking socio-economic opportunities for the region.

This initiative marks the second phase of the Minister’s lobbying campaign, reinforcing a broader move among regional leaders to seek direct collaboration with national institutions in addressing local development deficits.
