Children’s education in limbo at Jankpihi as School is closed down

Children’s education in limbo at Jankpihi a farming community in the Karaga District of the Northern region. This is because, the only primary school in the area have been closed down for about a year now due to the dilapidated nature of it.

The school which is now a death trap was abandoned because of the threat it poses on the children’s lives. The situation has however brought to a halt the education of children in the area leading some of the young girls to seek greener pastures down south.

Speaking on Zaa Major News, Tuesday, Yahaya Isahaku an aspiring assembly member Sanduwa said the situation has left children in the community without education.

According to him, the children could not cross to nearby communities to attend school because they couldn’t cross water. The District Chief Executive, he said has donated a roofing sheets for the construction of a teachers bungalow while the school is falling down.

All efforts by the community to get authorities act on the matter has proved futile.
