Alhaji Fuzak pledges support for labour ward project at Tamale West Hospital centenary launch

Renowned businessman and philanthropist, Alhaji Hussein Yushaw, popularly known as Alhaji Fuzak, has pledged to support the construction of a modern Labour Ward Complex at Tamale West Hospital as part of the hospital’s centenary legacy projects.

The pledge was announced during the launch of the hospital’s 100th Anniversary celebrations held on Wednesday, July 15, 2026. Although Alhaji Fuzak was unable to attend the event in person, he was represented by Mr. Mohammed Habib Tahiru, who also served as Chairman of the ceremony.

Delivering Alhaji Fuzak’s message, Mr. Tahiru reaffirmed the businessman’s commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery, particularly maternal and child health services in the Northern Region. He praised Tamale West Hospital for its remarkable 100-year contribution to healthcare and assured management of Alhaji Fuzak’s unwavering support for the successful construction of the proposed Labour Ward Complex.

Alhaji Fuzak, the Chief Executive Officer of FUZAK Constructions, is widely recognised for his philanthropic contributions to education, healthcare, youth empowerment and community development across Northern Ghana. His interventions include the construction of classroom blocks, drilling of boreholes, establishment of ICT centres and the donation of Da’wah buses to schools and communities.

Management of Tamale West Hospital expressed profound appreciation for Alhaji Fuzak’s commitment, describing his support as a significant boost to the hospital’s efforts to mobilise resources for its flagship centenary project.

Meanwhile, former Minister for Finance and Member of Parliament for Karaga, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, also pledged his support for the hospital’s centenary projects by committing to assist in the construction of a modern Children’s Ward. The proposed facility is expected to strengthen specialised healthcare services for children and improve paediatric care in the region.

In further support of the hospital’s development agenda, the Chief Executive Officer of Hajisam Pharmacy and Construction donated GH¢15,000 towards the construction of a perimeter fence wall for the hospital.

Additionally, the Chief Executive Officer of PK Gombilla Pharmacy, Alhaji PK Gombilla, donated GH¢5,000 in cash and a substantial quantity of medical supplies to support healthcare delivery at the facility.

The launch of the centenary celebrations brought together government officials, health professionals, traditional leaders, development partners and members of the public to commemorate Tamale West Hospital’s century of dedicated healthcare service and to rally support for projects that will improve healthcare delivery for future generations.
