Ghana’s recent international football performance has been underwhelming, with multiple factors contributing to its downward trend, observes Halid Prince Mukadi Gbramoni, Director of Sports at Zaa Multimedia.
“Ghana’s football woes can be attributed to teamwork and cohesion deficiencies, coaching and tactical inefficiencies, limited player development and talent identification initiatives, discipline concerns, and inefficient resource management,” Mukadi noted.
He emphasised that these issues have resulted in Ghana’s failure to qualify for major international tournaments, premature eliminations from competitions, and a downward trend in FIFA rankings.
To reverse this trend, Mukadi recommends strategic measures, including “appointing an experienced and tactically proficient coach, implementing a comprehensive youth development initiative, fortifying team discipline and leadership structures, enhancing infrastructure and training facilities, and augmenting player motivation and incentive structures.”
“By addressing these areas, Ghanaian football can regain its former glory,” Mukadi stressed.
“It’s time for a collective effort to revitalise the sport, from grassroots to elite levels.” He concluded
