Kumbungu MP supports vulnerable in four communities

Member of Parliament for Kumbungu, Honorable Ras Mubarak has presented food items to vulnerable and needy people in four communities in his Constituency.

The Kumbungu legislature presented over 150 boxes containing rice, sugar, fruit drink, cooking oil among others to needy elderly people from selected towns and communities in his constituency.
They includes Kumbungu Township, Zangbalun, Dalun and Satani.


  The donation is second in series done by the MP to the vulnerable during the month of Ramadan.

Members of  Ghana Association of the Deaf – Northern Regional branch received a cheque of GH¢ 2 000 and a number of bags of rice.

The money was to enable the Deaf people to buy Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) to protect themselves from contracting the virus.

Speaking to Zaa News at Dalun on Saturday, Ras Mubarak noted that the vulnerable in his constituency need both education on covid-19 and food support now.

Whilst donating food items to the needy, the Kumbungu MP pleaded with the people to listen and adhere strictly to safety protocols from health officials against prevention and the spread of the deadly coronavirus.

The kumbungu MP believes the fight against covid-19 can only be defeated through massive public education by health officials.

“These are vulnerable in our society, people who have retired, some persons with disabilities and people who are really struggling to get by” the MP explained.

The support, Honorable Mubarak said was the second in series after similar one  sponsored by   the Embassy of Palistine was done in some communities.
” This particular was kind sponsorship by the government and people of United Arab Emirates. These are friends of mine I contacted to lend a hand of  support to vulnerable groups in my Constituency “.

Asked if the support was to reduce negative impact covid-19 would have on the people, Ras Mubarak explained that during Ramadan required a lot prayers and sound mind was important to seeking Allah’s blessings.
The fight against COVID-19 he noted  will be worn through public education, science and technology and also  through prayers.
‘If is any better time to be serged God for His assistance, grace and mercy to fight coronavirus, this the time’, the legislator observed.

The Kumbungu MP has decided to partner a volunteer Biomedical scientistswith Tamale COVID-19 team, Dr Seidu Fiter to educate his constitutents on coronavirus.

  He explained that his a politician with the background in media and his message may be well received but a lot credence will be given somebody in the health sector.

‘When I came home on a visit one of the outrageously rediculous I have heard was that  this virus will not or can’t affect a Dagomba man simply because it’s believed that Dagombas have some form of immunization through drinking of herbs  against such viruses but we know that it knowns no color, ass or cred or boundaries ‘.
