Bugri Naabu warns top gov’t officials for attempting to deny his people their share of national cake

The Paramount Chief of Namong traditional area in the north east region, Daniel Bugri Naabu has warned that he and his people will not accept any move by some elements in government and party apparatchiks to deny children in the area of secondary education.

The Namong Dana said the president must ensure that the contractor working on the 4 story Community Senior High School (E-Block) building at Namong initiated by the previous NDC government is completed.

The visibly unhappy outspoken polician said some top national and regional executives of NPP are making efforts to leave the about 90% completed E-Block for the construction of 2 new schools at Yunyoo and Gbentri communities which is about 7 and 16 kilometers from Namong.

The move, Namong Dana Bugri Naabu said was unacceptable and waste of state resources.

He could not understand why top party people and some government appointees will want to abandon the near completed school for new ones.
The Namong E-Block project started in 2013, but the contractor-Yuri Soya construction company limited left site before 2016 elections and has since not returned.

The project according to the chief has been terminated and re-awarded to different contractor by current government but all efforts to get him back has failed.
The school, when completed will provide secondary education to students in the area Constituency who are travels to Karaga, Gushegu, Chereponi, Nalerigu or Nakpanduri which are all very far away coomple with bad road network.
Speaking to journalists at his palace in Namongo Saturday on how governments have denied his people of the National cake, Bugri Naabu said even though he lost last regional elections as Northern Regional Chairman of NPP, he is still part of the government and has performed creditably to increase NPP election furtunes.
He appealed to the president to turn his attention to his area. Chief Bugri Naabu recounted how he sacrifice his life for the part which led to his terrible accident during his official party work.

He regretted that the people in his traditional area despite their loyalty to the NPP since former pesident John Agyakum Kufuor regime have been deprived and that they are peef. He warned party functionaries trying to move the SHS from Namongo to the communities to abandon the idea or the party suffered for it.

The outspoken former Northern Regional Chairman didn’t minced words said the NDC government started the school with state money not individuals from the party and therefore it makes no sense to start a new SHS.

Namong Dana Bugri Naabu accused some ministers under president Nana Akufo-Addo’s administration of working against qualified Namongo people whose names were penciled for certain positions. Am sad to say this ‘my people are not be treated fairly, they didn’t enjoy their share of the government’ Bugri Naabu.

He continued;we are going to elections and am going to make sure that the same hard work I did and sacrifice my life.

The NDC are waiting, they said if they win I will run away from Ghana but in all of this my people didn’t benefit, claimed.

‘Am appealing to Nana (the President) to open his eyes this time to watch the voting partern and ensure that my people did will, they are awarded accordly’ .
