NDC Sets Date and Guidelines for Tamale Central By-Election Primaries

Tamale, August 20, 2025 — The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has outlined the roadmap for its parliamentary primaries in the Tamale Central Constituency ahead of a crucial by-election in the Northern Region.

In a statement issued by the Party’s National Secretariat on Wednesday, the NDC announced that the opening of nominations will run from Friday, August 22 to Sunday, August 24, 2025, with aspirants expected to pick up forms at the Party’s Northern Regional Office. Submissions and filing of nominations will follow on Thursday, August 28, while vetting, balloting, and appeals are scheduled for Sunday, August 31. The primaries themselves will take place on Saturday, September 6, 2025.

The Party further revealed that aspirants will pay GHS 5,000 for nomination forms and GHS 40,000 as the filing fee, payable only into the Party’s official bank account. However, female aspirants and persons with disabilities will benefit from a 50 percent concession on the filing fee in line with the NDC’s commitment to promoting inclusivity in political leadership.

A certified copy of the delegates list will be made available to aspirants after the vetting process, the statement added.
