Tamale – Zaa Multimedia’s Head of Sports, Halid Prince Mukadi Gbramoni, has made a heartfelt appeal to the government and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to rename the Kulikuli School Astro Turf in memory of the late Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Hon. Dr. Alhaji Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed.

‎Speaking during a live sports program on Zaa TV and echoing his message on social media, Gbramoni said such a gesture would be a powerful way to honor the sacrifices and achievements of the late lawmaker, who was among eight dignitaries tragically killed in a helicopter crash on August 6.

‎“I respectfully request that, the NDC government rename the Kuli Kuli School Astro Turf to Mohammed Murtala Astro Turf, in honor of his exceptional leadership and notable achievements, including the establishment of several clinics,” Gbramoni urged.

‎He stressed that beyond his role in sports development, Dr. Murtala Muhammed made significant contributions to health care in Tamale, with clinics he championed still serving communities today.

‎According to Gbramoni, immortalizing the late MP through the Astro Turf would not only preserve his legacy but also inspire generations to come. “This is about making his memory live on as a hero in the hearts of many sports-loving individuals both within and beyond the Tamale Central Constituency,” he said.

The call reflects the sentiments of many in Tamale Central, who continue to mourn their “fallen hero” and seek ways to celebrate his lasting impact on the constituency.
