Prof. Lord Kwaku Mensah Engages Tatale-Sanguli Assembly on Effective Local Governance and Service Delivery.

TATALE-SANGULI, Northern Region — The Head of the Local Government Service, Prof. Lord Kwaku Mensah, has paid an official courtesy call on the Tatale-Sanguli District Assembly as part of efforts to strengthen administrative effectiveness, staff performance and public service delivery at the local government level.
The visit, which took place on Thursday, October 8, 2026, provided an opportunity for Prof. Mensah to interact with the District Chief Executive, Hon. Mary Tagba, management and staff of the Assembly on issues affecting the administration and development of the district.

During the engagement, Hon. Tagba welcomed the Head of Service on behalf of the chiefs and people of Tatale-Sanguli and briefed him on the district’s operational challenges, including inadequate staffing, shortages of office equipment, deteriorating vehicles and limited transportation for field officers.
She explained that these constraints continued to affect the Assembly’s capacity to coordinate development activities and deliver services effectively, particularly to communities located far from the district capital.
Prof. Mensah, in his remarks, outlined the expectations of the Local Government Service and commended management and staff of the Assembly for their attendance and dedication to duty.
He also participated in an open forum with staff, during which officers asked questions, raised concerns and shared their experiences regarding administrative operations and service delivery.

The interaction provided a platform for staff to engage directly with the Head of Service on workplace challenges and matters relating to the effective functioning of the Local Government Service.
The visit further highlighted the importance of cooperation between the Local Government Service and district assemblies in promoting accountability, strengthening institutional capacity and ensuring that local government institutions remain responsive to the needs of their communities.
For the Tatale-Sanguli District Assembly, the engagement offered an opportunity to bring pressing administrative concerns to the attention of the Service’s leadership while reaffirming its commitment to improving governance and development outcomes.
The Assembly expressed its commitment to continuing to work with the Local Government Service to strengthen public administration and improve service delivery for the people of Tatale-Sanguli.
