Deputy Head of Ghana Mission in Saudi Arabia supports inmates of Tamale Central Prison.

The deputy head of the Ghana mission in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Hajia Hawabu Gariba Boya has donated items worth about five thousand, five hundred and seventy Ghana cedis (5,570.00) to inmates of the Tamale Central Prison.

The items include 10 bags of rice, 2 boxes of cooking oil, 2 boxes of tooth brush, 2 boxes of tooth paste, and 2 boxes of detol.

Other items include 2 sewing machines, 30 boxes of toiletries, 80 pieces of English verse of the Holy Quran and 40 pieces of Arabic Quran.

Presenting the items, Hajia Boya said the items will help ease the pressure on both inmates and prison officers. She said the presentation is to show love and care for the inmates and make them feel at home.

She also interacted with some of the inmates who in turn appealed to government and other benevolent organizations to come to their aid by tackling the issue of congestion and well-being. She assured them of further assistance from government and other institutions.

Receiving the items, the deputy director of the Tamale Central Prison, Abundant Robert Awolugutu expressed his profound gratitude for the kind gesture of Hajia Hawabu Boya, saying the items will go a long way to help in the smooth management of the inmates.
