Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Free Zone Authority, Alhaji Iddrisu Habib has vows to unseat the incumbent member of Parliament for Tolon Constituency Alhaji Habib is seeking unseat the incumbent Abdul Wahab Suhiyini Wumbei in the forthcoming primaries.
Alhaji Habib who filed his nomination on Friday at the Tolon Constituency office promised to set up what he called ‘The Constituency Educational Fund’ to support young persons who want to further their education but stop due to financial problems.
The fund, he explained, will cater for all the educational needs and other activities in the Constituency to help reduce poverty in the area.
Alhaji Habiba who contested Sagnarigu Constituency in 2016 but losed was sure that delegates in the Tolon Constituency will give him their mandate this time around.
Alhaji Habib said the people in the area will look at themselves as they have voted the incumbent for 8 years and yet can’t point something good.
‘ If you look at the polling station executives, you will not be able to see what will actually attract another person to enter or join the NP’ he observed.
‘If your government is in power, there is there need for a lot challenges in your life, people should be able to look at you and know that your party is in power and join your party’, he told journalists after filing his nomination.
Alhaji Habib said farmers in the Constituency
always begin to think about farming season when rains start to fall and it is worrisom because they don’t know how they will go into their farms.
This, he noted was because there is no opportunity in going into farming. He promised providing the necessary support for farmers in the area should he wins the premaries and subsequently elected as member of Parliament for Tolon.
‘I don’t see the premaries as unseating an incumbent, I see it as contesting an election of which am wining’ Alhaji Habib stated.
The Deputy free zone authority CEO who is optimistic of winning the premaries stated that the Constituency has over 500 delegates from 100 polling stations and about 378 polling station executives have thrown their weight behind him.
Alhaji further stated that the 18 electoral area coordinators from the 24 electoral areas and out that, 18 have also have pledge their support for his bid.
This, Alhaji Habib said is an indication that the people accepted him and are ready to campaign vagioursely for his election in the forthcoming Parliamentary primaries and the general elections.
The incumbent is being keenly contested by the former Northern Regional women’s organizer, Hajia Amama Sayibu, an Assistant Revenue Officer at the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) Alhaji Bako Jagbo and Alhaji Habiba Iddrisu.
