Ahead of the Eid al-Fitr celebrations, MTN Ghana in the northern region has extended its support to the Muslim community with a donation to the Tamale Central Mosque. The donation included assorted drinks, bottled water, a ram, cooking oil, tomato paste, rice, and a cash amount of GHS 10,000.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Collins Agyei, Area Sales Manager for the Northern Region, emphasized MTN Ghana’s commitment to supporting Muslims during Ramadan, recognizing it as a time of spiritual renewal.

“We acknowledge the vital role our Muslim brothers and sisters play in fostering national unity and contributing to our business. Ramadan provides an opportunity for us to express our appreciation and support,” he said.

He further highlighted that Muslims form a significant part of MTN’s business community, and the company sees this initiative as a way of giving back while strengthening ties with the community.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the Regional Chief Imam, Abdulai Habibu Mohammed, Secretary to the Regional Chief Imam, expressed gratitude for MTN Ghana’s continued generosity.

“MTN has been supporting us for the past six years, and we deeply appreciate their kindness. Their contributions show they care about the Muslim community, and we trust they will continue to include us in their social programs,” he stated.

He added that the donation would assist underprivileged Muslims in celebrating Eid with joy and dignity.

MTN Ghana’s gesture aligns with its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, which focus on community support and societal development. As Muslims in Ghana and worldwide prepare to mark the end of Ramadan, such contributions highlight the role of corporate partnerships in community welfare and development.
