Northern Regional Minister Holds Maiden Engagement with MMDCEs

Tamale, July 25, 2025 – The Northern Regional Minister, Hon. Ali Adolf John, has held his first official meeting with Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) alongside their Coordinating Directors (MMDCDs), signaling a renewed commitment to collaborative governance and regional development.

The meeting, held at the Conference Hall of the Northern Regional Coordinating Council (NRCC), brought together key stakeholders in local government administration to chart a unified path for progress across the region’s districts.

In his welcome address, the Chief Director of the NRCC, Mr. Sumaila Ewontomah Abudu, described the engagement as a vital platform for knowledge-sharing and coordination. He announced that such meetings would become a biannual fixture, designed to enhance policy alignment, streamline communication, and improve service delivery across the region.

Hon. Ali Adolf John congratulated the MMDCEs on their recent appointments and successful confirmations. He emphasized the critical role of teamwork and effective coordination in translating the President’s vision for development into practical outcomes at the grassroots level.

“Regional progress requires that we put aside individual differences and work as a team. We must focus on strategies and initiatives that respond directly to the developmental needs of our people,” he said, urging the MMDCEs and MMDCDs to build stronger inter-district collaboration.

The Minister reiterated his commitment to inclusive leadership, stakeholder engagement, and a results-oriented approach to regional governance. He noted that the maiden meeting marks the beginning of deeper partnerships aimed at unlocking the development potential of the Northern Region.

The MMDCEs and MMDCDs, in response, expressed appreciation to the Minister and the NRCC for organizing the forum.
