Gbewaa Palace reconstruction꞉ Nyankpala Traditional area presents tenth donation of GH¢45,300 to Fundraising Committee
The Nyankpala Traditional Area has presented GH¢45,300 to the Dagbang Development Fundraising Committee towards the reconstruction of the historic Gbewaa Palace.
Receipts from the palace secretariate indicates that, a total of GHC 260,165 in cash has been given to the fundraising committee.
The latest contribution marks the eighth cash donation made by the Nyankpala Palace to support the project aimed at restoring the seat of the Dagbang Kingdom.
According to the palace, the amount was mobilized through household contributions and levies imposed on newly allocated plots within the traditional area.
Speaking during the presentation, the Nyankpala Lana reiterated the need for sons and daughters of Dagbang, development partners and other well-meaning individuals to continue supporting the reconstruction project to ensure its timely completion.

The Chief stressed the importance of transparency and accountability in the fundraising process, noting that making contributions public through the media would encourage more people and organizations to contribute toward the project.
He explained that after every donation made by the palace, the fundraising committee issues an official receipt to acknowledge and authenticate the contribution, assuring contributors of the credibility of the process.
The Nyankpala Lana therefore urged the public to have confidence in the Dagbang Development Fundraising Committee and continue to support the reconstruction efforts. Secretary to the Nyankpala Chief, Ibrahim Salifu, also appealed to secretariats of other traditional palaces across Dagbang to intensify their mobilization efforts to support the speedy completion of the Gbewaa Palace project.
A member of the Dagbang Development Fundraising Committee, Kug Malzal Naa, Alhaji Mohammed Haroun Cambodia, commended the Nyankpala Traditional area for its consistent support and commitment towards the reconstruction project.

He noted that although work on the palace has reached the finishing stage of phase one, additional financial support is still needed to complete the project successfully.
Alhaji Cambodia further appealed to other traditional areas, individuals, organizations and institutions within Dagbang and those in the diaspora to contribute towards the completion of the palace, describing the current stage of the project as critical and requiring urgent support.
