Tam. Poly Students Have Hyperthesis B

0

Thirty percent of students of Tamale Polytechnic are infected with the hyperthesis B virus.

A survey conducted by the students’ body also revealed several other venereal diseases, including HIV AIDS.

This is contained in the medical officers’ report on the 2010-2011 students’ medical exams.

Consequently the Students Representative Council (SRC) of the polytechnic has decided to use this year’s SRC week celebrations to educate the students about the dangers of the disease.

Health master of the polytechnic, Hussein Yunus said the SRC week would be used to create awareness about the disease and other communicable diseases.

He said there are indications that 2009 and 2010 batches of students also have the disease.

Mr. Yunus appealed to the media to highlight the issue since it is a very serious one.
He however assured that the polytechnic campus is safe and that the report should not scare people away from the polytechnic campus]]>
