A devastating rainstorm struck the Bulbia community in the West Mamprusi Municipality of the North East Region on Monday, April 7, 2025, leaving many residents homeless.
The violent storm ripped off the roofs of more than twenty (20) houses, caused significant damage to several buildings, and displaced numerous families. The affected residents, many of whom are farmers, are now struggling to find shelter and necessities in the wake of the disaster.
The Assemblyman for the Yaama Electoral Area, Malechi Abdul-Razak, has made an urgent appeal to authorities and benevolent individuals to come to the aid of the affected community members. He emphasized the need for immediate support, particularly roofing materials, to enable residents to put up temporary housing.
Residents are also calling on the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) and other emergency services to swiftly intervene with relief assistance to help them cope with the storm’s devastating impact.
As the affected families try to recover from the disaster, the need for urgent humanitarian assistance remains critical. Many are left without shelter, making the call for aid even more pressing.
