48 communities in Karaga constituency connected to national electricity grid-Deputy Energy Minister discloses
The Deputy Energy Minister Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam Anta has disclosed that about 48 communities have been connected to the national electricity grid in his constituency. He said the connections which is unprecedentedly done within a year, will ensure a speedy boost of social and economic activities of the people in the Karaga Constituency.
Dr. Amin Anta made the disclosure at the Commissioning of a Thank You Electrification Project under the Ministry of Energy at four separate communities in the constituency. The communities which are Konkomba dominated areas include, Namang, Binkoli, Naaloli and Taanbigu.
Over 1600 energy saving bulbs and 40 street lights were donated to the communities. Four satellite Television sets, one each installed at the chief palaces of the four communities. The Deputy Energy Minister assured that communities without electricity within the Karaga Constituency in the region will be connected to the national grid by the end of his tenure as MP.
He said the ruling NPP government is a people-centered government and will, therefore, not discriminate against any tribe or community in terms of the provision of development projects whether they voted for the party or not. He therefore expressed the hope that the people will reciprocate the gesture and vote massively for him and the NPP in subsequent elections. The Chiefs of the communities commended the MP for the provision of electricity and appealed for more development projects for their communities.
