Dabang Forum (DF), a non-profit Youth Development Association has donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to the Tamale Central Hospital, Tamale west hospital, two municipal and nine district hospitals in the northern region.
DF has also donated to the Gbewaa palace, the Mion-Lana and Yo-Naa palaces.
The items include 50 (100ltr) and 50 (80ltr) Veronica buckets, 50 Galons of liquid soap, 100 (200ml) pieces of hand sanitizers and 120 (medium) pieces of tissue tolls.
The PPEs were bought from individual contributions by members of the forum.
Presenting the items, Alhaji Sintaro Mahama, national vice-president of DF, noted that the donation was to compliment government efforts to contain and prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic in the area and the nation at large.
The donation was also a demonstration of the deep concern members of the forum felt about the good health of the people of Dagbang.
Alhaji Sintaro called on all sections of society to work diligently towards preventing the spread of Covid-19 virus as this posed a threat to all aspects of life.
He urged people of Dagbang to continue to observe social distancing protocols, adhere to the safety measures of effective hand washing, wearing of masks, and the regular use of hand sanitizers to prevent the spread of the virus.
Alhaji Sintaro also called on government, traditional rulers, bilateral and other international organizations, civil society groups, and local communities to work towards addressing the severe negative economic and social impact of COVID19 across the region and nation at large.
Tamale Central Hospital Medical Superintendent, Dr Mahamadu Mbiniwaya who received the items on behalf of the hospital commended DF for the gesture. He appealed to philanthropist to emulate the good example of DF.
